Blind CONTOUR drawings
For these drawings, we turned our body to the side so that we aren’t able to see our paper. We put our hand out in the desired position and we put our pen down on our paper. But, we weren’t able to lift up the pen once we started going. This activity helped us understand how important fluidity is in a drawing.
Modified Hand drawings
For the modified hand drawings, we were able to look at our hand and the sketchbook. We still weren’t able to lift up our pen, because it showed us the importance of looking at the image/item you’re trying to draw, so that you don’t lose the correct proportions and reality.
CONTOUR drawings
For these drawings, we put the backpack/shoe in the center of our table. We were able to continuously glance over at the item and our paper as well. These drawings helped me figure out the importance of the size of an object you’re drawing.
Graphite value drawing
For this activity, we drew a cube, pyramid, cylinder, sphere, and cone. We learned about the importance of shading in objects, because it shows dimension and brings the drawing to life.
Value still life drawings
For this, we had to take pictures of 5 different angles of the items in the front of the room. We had to sketch them out and practice very little shading. These helped to decide which perspective we would like to use for our final drawing.
